Mission
The Blount County Humane Society is a Grass Roots, Volunteer Driven, Non Profit 501(c)3, "ANIMAL PROTECTION ORGANIZATION" in the truest and longest traditions of the movement. We believe that Animal Protection stands for the preservation of animal life, not the ending of it. "Shelter Killing is the #1 cause of death of healthy Dogs, Cats, Puppies and Kittens in America. The Blount County Humane Society believes that this practice is morally wrong. We are committed to making Blount County a No Kill Community by building a Safe All Access No Kill Shelter that respects animal life and stopping the killing of healthy, lovable, precious animals in our community. The BCHS has no affiliation with the Blount County Government or the Blount County Shelter.

We believe that a No Kill Blount County is within our reach if YOU team up with us to help achieve this wonderful goal.

We are located in Maryville Tennessee in the beautiful foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park but no matter where you live you can stand with us in our No Kill Quest by joining our Facebook Fan Page. We have amazing plans to stand for the rights of animals in our community, our region and our home state of Tennessee. We welcome you in our journey no matter where you live we will consider you part of our BCHS Family.

Company Overview
HELP BUILD A NO KILL COMMUNITY IN BLOUNT COUNTY TENNESSEE... "I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter, the cast offs of human society. I saw in their eyes love, hope, fear, dread, sadness and betrayal. I was angry. "God", I said, "Why don't you do something?" And God replied "I did. I created you."
