About
BBRR is dedicated to relieving the suffering of abandoned, neglected, and abused animals in semi-rural south Houston.
Mission
Our mission is relieve the suffering of street dogs and find them loving, forever homes.
Description
The area around Mykawa and Alemeda-Genoa is a dumping ground for unwanted animals. A high density of dogs, cats, and farm animals need help. All dumped, all starving, all in need of medical attention. BBRR patrols the area and stabilizes the population by feeding and providing vaccines and medical care. We network with other rescues to get the dogs off the streets and into homes and run a foster and adoption program. We network with the indigent community to provide information and resources for animal care. Distemper and Parvo vaccines are offered free to residents to assist in control of these illnesses. We also send tick specimens to research labs for disease discovery and surveillance.
