"For several months, I photographed a family of young red foxes as they were growing up in the woods on Griffin Mountain. This photograph was taken early on a foggy morning in mid October from a blind. Grooming is an important part of fox society, but this was one of the few times I actually witnessed it. I like the way the image projects a sense of intimacy, tenderness, and calm between the foxes - characteristics not often associated with the species."
