Friday Haiku

I see all these dogs
Abandoned ~ pleading eyes say:
I want to be loved.

Most of you probably know by know that I am a Nature and animal lover.  I have a daily Animal in Need post showcasing an animal from my FB page.  I don't have millions of dollars to donate to finding them loving homes, but I feel it is a way that I can contribute to helping them find a rescue/foster/permanent home.

This little girl is in Abilene, Tx - dumped by her person because they were moving.  She's a real beauty - look at her eyes!  I hope she finds her way out of the "shelter" system, which isn't always kind to these animals.

She's about the same age as Kylie was when I adopted her, long distance, from a kill shelter in Houma, LA.  I don't know if Abilene offers that.

This girl is such a beauty and I have the feeling that someone will get her out of there immediately.  At least, I hope so.

Her name is Harley and she is the inspiration for my haiku for today.

UPDATE:  Just as I suspected, Harley has been tagged for rescue!  Would that all dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, birds and other animals who find themselves in this situation be rescued this quickly!

  2. Completely and utterly breaks my heart... can't imagine someone not loving these incredible beings, these openers of the heart... please, yes, someone take me home and love me...

    1. I love how you said that, Lea - "these openers of hearts." It's a perfect description of their assignment to help humans remember how to unconditionally love.
