Today's Animal in Need

Darn it! Teddy didn't get adopted this weekend! Let's share this GREAT GUY so he can find a home this month! Please share him. Teddy is being fostered in So Cal, anyone interested in meeting and possibly adopting Teddy can apply on our website www.bichonfurkids.org

Hello World,

My name is Teddy and I’m a gorgeous bichon of one who is handsome, sweet, smart, playful and loving. (That’s according to my foster Mom because I would never brag!) I’m a tall and lean bichon (some would say man-sized ‘cause I way about 20 pounds) but I’m all muscle and beautiful hair.

I get along great with other dogs of all sizes and shapes - and love people they call adults. When I am out in public I love to greet people and make them feel welcome! These people become my friends very quickly—and often ask if they can take a picture with me (‘cause I’m so handsome and attentive. So you will probably see my photo on FaceBook a lot these days!)
Mom says that I am a great walker (I hold my head and tail high and so that my tail flies like a flag) and a great rider (in the car, that is!) She says I never try to push my way into the driver seat, either! You see I have very good manners.

I’m also playful and a very, very good sport. Mom says I love to throw my toys in the air – and play ‘keep away.’ I also like it when Mom plays throw and fetch with me. (She’s getting pretty good at it, too!) Even though I love my stuffed toys, I’m happy to share them with other dogs. And I do everything I can to get my canine buddies to play with me. If not, I just play independently. (Mom thinks spending time at the dog park would be at the very top of my bucket list. I don’t know what that is but Mom smiles when she says that so it must be true.)

Another thing Mom wants you to know about me is that I’m SMART! I’m housebroken (I love the doggy door and learned to use it very quickly!) and I know some commands. (I really like the one that starts out ‘Good boy!) And I’m so good that I get to sleep in the Big People’s Bed!

My favorite things to do are to play with stuffed toys, other dogs – and you! After playing I like to run to Mom for hugs and pets! I’m very convincing too as she can’t resist me!

My biggest wish is for a home with an active couple and maybe another furkid or two. If I could go on lots of rides and walks (to the dog park please!) I would be in heaven. (No young children please!)

If I sound like the kind of furkid you are looking for, please complete our application – and ask for me!

Waiting to be your new best friend,
Terrific and Talented Teddy

  1. I've been told I'm not allowed to get my brother a dog. But if I were, this one would be at the top of the list. What a sweetheart.

    1. I fostered a Bichon for a couple of weeks while his mom was in the hospital - he was a delight, full of mischief and a very funny sense of humor!
