Post Sandy outreach - Jersey strong!

How fabulous is this?!

#njsandy Immediate Supplies for NJ EMS and FIRE Depts affected by Hurricane Sandy reports:
"Yesterday was donation day to Union Beach EMS! Bergen County Tri-Boro Volunteer Ambulance Corps are just totally awesome - no other way to say it!
They donated a fully stocked rig to Union Beach, who lost all supplies and rigs in the hurricane! We are so happy we were able to make the introduction & connection for you!"

  1. My heart lifts when I read these stories. The stereotype of Jersey is debunked everytime people from other states see that we are together as one. We're like a big dysfunctional family. Sometimes we want to beat the Hell out of each other, but if someone outside the family (Sandy) hurts one of us....it's on.

    1. Jersey, being a Sagittarian State (birthday is 12/18 - when it became a State) is full of complexities, just like a human Sagittarian. It takes years for us to know ourselves - we must first explore the many aspects of us: optimist, gambler, sports person, animal lover, philosopher, party animal, explorer, teacher, child like in our wonder, wanderer/gypsy in many realms, wildly creative. If we're lucky, we'll be molded into our real self - the Sage.

Look at Jersey - gambling? Check - Atlantic City and the reckless driving habits. State animal - horse (we're Centaurs!). Party animal? Check - Jersey Shore. Philosopher? Check - Princeton University. Animal lovers? Check - you and I and many others. Child like in our wonder? Check - we'll never really grow up; mature hopefully and become that Sage. Wildly creative? Check - Meryl Street, The Boss, Frank Sinatra and that list goes on and on and on.

Jersey is such a unique State - it's not like NY, not like Pa (another Sagittarian State). I picture Jersey as the alien terminal shown in Men in Black - millions of different people passing through, some staying, always an interesting situation, never a dull moment and yet, we do have moments of serenity. Maybe in just the acceptance of who we are - when we experience those "in between times," the times when we take a breath and allow our fullness to deeply register within.

Jersey Strong. Yep, in spite of appearances!
