Today's Animal in Need

This petition was on FB today and I thought I would post it.  If you're so inclined, please feel free to sign it.  Thank you!
Hi, everyone, I am putting out a major plea for a wonderful Humane Society that is truly a NO-KILL.... their donations are WAY DOWN, and they have taken in more dogs over the last few months than ever. They have not gotten the level of financial help that they have in past years, and now it is possible that we could lose them. They have not held a board meeting on this subject yet, but I am told it is a possibility that they could have to shut their doors.
This would be a major tragedy!!! They have helped save dogs all over Florida, and work tirelessly to find them homes. Please, please, donate what you can to help them. I will attach their website here. If you donate directly it goes to help the animals in the shelter in Hollister, and if you post a note that you want your donation to help the animals from Pasco, Sebring, and Hillsborough, it will go towards helping them.
Remember it is tax deductible and remember that without all of us, they can't keep helping..... I hope that many of you will help in whatever way you can.

Mission Statement

The Humane Society of Northeast Florida is a private, non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to:
- Establishing and operating shelter facilities to ensure comfort and assistance to all pets in need in Northeast Florida
- To adopt companion animals into homes for life
- To advance responsible programs to reunite lost pets with their owners
- To encourage and strengthen the human/animal bond with programs and services that focus on the needs of both people and animals
- To create lasting and comprehensive change in human behavior toward animals through education about responsible pet ownership, including the spaying and neutering of pets, and about the humane and respectful treatment of all animals;

In addition to caring for animals in need, a goal of the Humane Society of Northeast Florida is to educate the public, and to promote the spaying and neutering of companion animals at an early age.  This routine procedure prevents the birth of unwanted litters, thus helping to reduce the euthanasia of healthy animals.

Medical care and appropriate shots are provided for all animals put up for adoption, including rabies shots and Putnam County tags.

The shelter maintains "lost and found" files for animals reported to us.
We offer microchip identification with all adoptions.  This service is available to all pet owners.  The shelter maintains the microchip database for Putnam County.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit funded entirely by memberships, donations, bequests and grants.
