Oh wow, this looks wonderful!! I suddenly have a flashback too... I remember my mom decorated oranges with Christmas - she sticked cloves into the oranges and hang the 'ball' somewhere in our home.. the smell was awesome!
Thanks, Marit - those orange balls are called pomanders. They are oranges that have cloves stuck into them to mostly cover the orange and usually have a nice ribbon attached so that you can hang them in closets or other places.
